Should be saying I'm 36 weeks....

but I am shouting Baby Boy is Here!!!!!!!!!!

My Rainbow Baby is here, exactly a month early!!!

Quick L&D story....

So I go in for my normal OB appt friday morning(luckily DH was off that day and was able to go with me), I woke up not feeling too hot and very sleepy b/c I hadn't slept very well the night before(kept nodding off in car and in waiting room). I get into room and nurse takes Blood Pressure...reading comes back very elevated, doc comes in we wait twenty more minutes still elevated and she proceeds with normal 36 weeks test. They then ask me to rest on side for a bit so they can take BP again, still elevated. I have always had very low/regular BP, so Doc calls L&D and they want me to come down for monitoring...I get monitored, run test in triage for about an 2 hours and then they determine that they are going to check me in for overnight monitoring. About 1 hour into overnight stay, they tell me that they have diagnosed me with Pre-E and at this point they are just trying to determine severity, which would determine if I would be at hospital on bedrest until 37 weeks or if they are going to do an immediate induction.

After about an hour or two they decided that it was severe enough for induction that evening. I was very shocked to say the least and sitting there trying to take in everything. DH at this point had gone home to pack a bag for me and him and get DS off to a sitter. I had a family member in room with me, that called DH updated him and had him finish packing my hospital bag that I had barely packed. I am freaking out, b/c we just weren't prepared, ironically enough DH had just put crib together the night before, but we were going to use the weekend to purchase travel system, bouncer, mattress and other major necessities. I had begun to pack to hospital bags, but only had diapers, wipes, a few diapering products in baby's bag. My bag was even worse off... I only had nursing bra, pads and a couple pairs of panties. SO DH had to literally pack bags off of what I told him on phone. SN:If you haven't packed your bag...do it ASAP :)

After severity diagnosis, I am then wheeled into a L&D room and the induction starts around 8pm. I was on a ton of different IV meds and after feeling pretty crappy all night and the next day and a VERY HARD, INTENSE labor( I'll have to do another detailed blog on labor and delivery at a later date) I finally delivered a beautiful baby boy that next evening at 7:19pm...he was 4lbs 8 oz, 18 inches long and very healthy. We are very blessed that he did not have to go to NICU, only in an observation room for 24 hours due to heavy breathing issues and making sure he could keep his temps up.

The follwing day DH went to store to finish up all purchases. Most importantly a travel system for us to bring baby boy home :) We all were released yesterday, and I am SO happy to have my baby boy in my arms.

Needless to say, I am sitting at home in bliss and shock at the same time. Normal OB appt went from 0-100MPH, and here I am with my Baby Boy!!!!
